Hello CutCardStock.com fans!! Welcome to Wednesday! It’s Kristie Larsen here to share with you the perfect summer card. The reason why?? Well, not only does it feature some refreshing lemons, but it is also fast to create and can save you a lot of time during a busy summer. This would be a great technique to adapt for birthday cards and whatever else you find yourself making a lot of with limited hours during these sunny days ahead.
Ok. This is how it goes. SO simple and fast. (You can see some examples of inspiration HERE, HERE and HERE.. any of them would make amazing color blocked cards!).
Take all the fun Pop-Tones card stock colours you have (They are ON SALE NOW!!) and choose whichever few go together well. Of course take into account the kind of card you are making… I chose a white card base and then a mint, sky blue and yellow. They have this really mellow summer time feel to them. The great thing about Pop-Tones is they are a bit lighter so after making this card, it’s still not going to feel bulky. You get to add a lot of great color and keep it slim too. Trim a few pieces of paper to different sizes and adhere them to your card stock. You can do rectangles, triangles, strips… you name it. This is a really modern look with not a lot of work involved and you know I ove that…
I stamped my lemons first and then die cut them after. I didn’t know how many I was going to use so I figured as long as I was stamping and cutting I might as well make a lot! I toyed with a few ideas for borders, or background images and in the end chose just one and a half for a focal point.
I added a little strip of yellow Pop-Tones card stock to pull the eye down closer to the sentiment which is embossed in white. I added some glossy accents to the lemons to add some gloss and texture.
And that’s it! It’s such a simple concept but makes up a fast and fun card. Just the way we like it in the summer, right??
Thanks for stopping in today. I hope you found some inspiration to help you in your summer crafting!
