Summer is officially here!
For me, summer is all about yellows and bright oranges, mixed with blue raspberry shades. I didn’t really have to pick just one, did I? Today I have a card that catches the eye and certainly says, Smile… it’s Summer!
I started with some strips of patterned paper and matched them up to some Pop Tones solid color cardstock. One of the many things I love about Pop Tones is that they are really easy to match up to tons of the patterned paper in my stash.
I die cut the outside stitched border of this piece. Then I figured out exactly where I wanted the “smile” die cut to be inlayed. Using washi tape helps to hold dies in place.
I cut another of the “smile” die cut from the Blue Raspberry cardstock and filled in the negative space on my paper pieced rectangle. I nested them together and then used a post it note to keep it held while I flipped it over to add my adhesive on the back.
I layered this on top of a slightly larger stitched rectangle die cut from Orange Fizz Pop Tones. I gave it some dimension with our 3D foam tabs and added the entire piece to a top folding A2 card of Neenah Solar white cardstock.
I just love the bright colors and this card puts a smile on my face!
