Skip the tie…. give Dad a gift card!

Most of the men in my life avoid wearing a tie like the plague! And although I love seeing my children make cute gifts for Father’s Day, I also like to give a little something special to my husband in celebration of Father’s Day. How about a gift card? I can’t think of many men that wouldn’t love a gift card to Home Depot, Best Buy or their favorite pizza joint.

This project is super easy, and that means the kids can help out, or it can be mass produced if you have a lot of special guys in your life!

I started by embossing my full sheet of Basis Red cardstock. Then, I used a die that I have specifically for gift card holders. If you don’t have a die, you can easily find a template or just wing it.

For the closure, I punch to small circles, found some random red brads I had hanging around from 2005 or so and grabbed a strand of baker’s twine.

Then I stamped my images on Basis White cardstock. I don’t usually use Basis for coloring with Copics, but I knew the little super hero wouldn’t take a lot of coloring. The Basis cardstock worked great!

I glued down my pieces to the front. The banner with the greeting was adhered using Mono Multi and the super hero cutie pie was attached with 3D foam tabs.

Happy Crafting! -Amber
