Firecracker Treats

Do you have plans for the 4th of July? This year is all about the 250th celebration. It might be the year you’re throwing a big barbeque and want to make some party favors! I have a firecracker treat craft that is quick and fun. All you need are some toilet paper tubes, toys or treats and CutCardStock paper!

First, start with Basis Light Blue cut at 4” by 11”. I’m using the 65 lb. weight because it’s flexible enough to wrap around the tube. Wrap the outside of the tube with the paper, adding adhesive to the back as you wrap.

Next, cut your favorite patriotic print paper at 3.5” by 11”. Wrap it around the tube, leaving a quarter inch of blue paper peeking out from each side.

Now, cut a few die cut star shapes in Classic Crest Solar White, and Lessebo Cherry Red. Additionally cut a die cut number four in DCS Wild Blueberry Navy.

Stack the nested stars on top of each other after adhering thin brown twine on the first star. To stack, I am using foam pieces. Then, place the number four on top of the smaller star.

Write the letters TH in white gel pen. Glue this to the center of the tube. Also, consider using another design like the numbers ‘250’ for the 250th birthday!

To stuff your firecracker treats, choose your items and place them in the center of a small piece of white tissue paper. Roll up the items and slide them through the tube. Finally, tie off the ends with some colorful bakers twine.

You now have a special treat for those upcoming picnics that assembles in minutes! What’s more, you have instant table decor too.

I’ve put colorful beads, buttons and tattoos in my firecracker treats. Likewise, candy would also work well! These will look so cute on a place setting or picnic table.

How do you plan to celebrate the Fourth of July this summer? I hope you liked this project. Consider adding this to your Pinterest boards for future inspiration! Then, check out CutCardStock Pinterest inspiration posts for even more ideas. Hope you have a wonderful and safe 4th!
