Getting Started

Getting started on this Masking Technique Card & Bookmark Duo was easy. It all starts with fabulous cardstock, so I created this Masking Technique Card & Bookmark by using the fabulous Cougar White Cardstock layered with Pop Tone Pink Lemonade Cardstock. The weights of these cardstocks help to make every project turn out sturdy and firm to stand the test of time (and mailing).

Tips & Techniques

As seen above, I used a masking technique where you cover/mask an area (I used a small piece of scrap paper) to protect it from getting stamped on and covered. This leaves the area clear to add a sentiment as seen above. This made it easier to stamp the musical images onto the card and bookmark without messing up the focal images or sentiments.

Sewing on Cardstock

Yes, it’s true! You can machine stitch right onto your cardstock. And most especially; these FABULOUS cardstock from CutCardStock are great for both machine and hand-stitching projects. Have you ever tried stitching on cardstock from CutCardStock? It’s always fun to try a new technique, and CutCardStock has so many great choices to get you there.

The Cougar White Cardstock was also used on the bookmark sentiment spot. The photo above really shows you the lovely edges of the cardstock and just how thick and sturdy they are. Another great thing about CutCardStock is that you’re always sure to find every color, every weight, and every size of cardstock you can image.

Finishing Touches

The non-CutCardStock items used include some Crate Paper stickers, patterned papers, ephemera pieces, tabs and whatnots. I tend to add a lot sometimes, but these cardstocks are just so perfect.
