Hello Autumn!

Hello friends!

I really wanted to create a card that showcased the colors and flowers of fall that I love. There was an opportunity to do a little coloring with my alcohol markers as well. I created this Hello Autumn card with the colors in mind, but I also wanted it to be something the Assisted Living that I donate cards to could use any time this fall. I think I succeeded.

Supplies

Cardstock

Dies

  • Pixi Dust Designs Pumpkin House Die set
  • Pixi Dust Designs Poppy Die set
  • Pixi Dust Designs Foliage Die set
  • Pixi Dust Designs Dream Big Die set

Inks

Catherine Pooler Inks

  • Party Dress
  • Coral Cabana
  • Spruce
  • Eucalyptus
  • Ginger
  • Mandarin Spice
  • Glam
  • Sangria

Getting Started

First, I cut the pumpkin base out of Whipped Cream cardstock using Pixi Dust Designs Pumpkin Die set. Next, I grabbed Copic Markers E40, E41, E42, E43 and E44. To get the look I wanted on the pumpkin, I added E44 in the grooves of the pumpkin. Then, I flicked the Copic Markers from the top down and from the bottom up. To blend the Copic Markers, I colored the entire pumpkin using E40.

The sentiment is from Catherine Pooler’s Give Thanks Sentiment set. I stamped it in Versafine ink and used Brutus Monroe’s Penny embossing Powder on the sentiment. It’s a beautiful bronze color with a touch of copper.

Next Steps

For my next steps, I did a lot of die cutting! First, I cut the pumpkin leaves out of Granny Smith cardstock and the green background out of Bonsai cardstock and the Pixi Dust Designs Foliage die. I ink blended over the greenery using Eucalyptus and Spruce inks. Next, I cut out the yellow florals using Yellow Jacket and the rust colored florals out of Tangy Orange cardstock. I ink blended over the florals using Ginger on the Yellow Jacket and Mandarin Spice on the Tangy Orange cardstock. Then, I cut out the Poppy’s out of Pink Lemonade cardstock and ink blended Party Dress and Coral Cabana over the die cuts. Finally, I cut the floral centers out of Coffee Bean cardstock and the rusty foliage out of Tangy Orange cardstock.

Before I assembled the card, I stamped the sentiment on the pumpkin using Versamark Watermark ink and added Penny Embossing Powder by Brutus Monroe. The sentiment is from Catherine Poolers Give Thanks Sentiment stamp set.

Assembly

I grabbed a piece of Grape Jelly cardstock and ink blended Sangria and Glam inks around the edges. Next, I added all of the green and rust foliage to the pumpkin. Then, I added all of the florals in the pumpkin and glued everything to my Grape Jelly cardstock panel. I added some flowers and greenery to the base of my pumpkin. To finish the card up , I added some Picket Fence Studio gems to the florals and Santa Lane Gem Stones to the foliage. I adhered the card panel to my 5×7 card base and my card was complete.

Thank you so much for joining me today as I created this fall card. I hope it gets you ready to start saying “Hello Autumn” as well!

Patty
