Layered Lighthouse Scene

Are you a landlubber like I am? I now live in the Pacific Northwest surrounded by water, but I grew up in the midwest where water meant a lake. Even then I was suspicious as I’d seen Jaws after all. But that doesn’t mean I don’t like the idea of water.

For instance, in this case, I was inspired by a lighthouse to celebrate someone who is now the senior dock person at her summer job. I have no doubt there’s a more fitting descriptor for the position, but landlubber, remember?!

The Night Sky

For the card front, I used a Lawn Fawn cover plate along with Classic Crest Patriot Blue Heavyweight cardstock to represent a dark nighttime sky. I adhered that panel to the Blank Cougar White A2 Folded cardstock base. I love the contrast between the dark blue and white, don’t you?

The Island and Lighthouse

CutCardStock papers are so very versatile. It’s no surprise to me that I’ve had great results with all the dies I’ve tried including the Spellbinders ones used here. Woo hoo!

The sentiment

When I don’t have the perfect sentiment stamp, I will often make my own using alphabet dies. Here, along with CCS Silver Glitter cardstock, the Hello Bluebird sentiment is a play on words with the lighthouse theme. Isn’t that fun?!
