Library Pocket Friendship Card

Hey everybody, Happy Saturday! I hope you had a great week and have something fun planned this weekend. Leslie here with you today sharing a tutorial for making a friendship card in the form of a library pocket! I used our Lessebo Bubble Gum Pink, Lessebo Blossom Pink and Pop Tone Jellybean Green. I also used Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White for the card insert. You won’t believe how easy this card is – so let’s get started!

Cut Card Base & Layers for Library Pocket Friendship Card

First, cut the library pocket card base at 5-1/4″ x 10″ from Lessebo Bubble Gum Pink and score it at 5-1/2″. When folded, you’ll notice the back flap is an inch taller than the front flap.

Next, cut the front layering panel at 4″ x 4-3/8″ from Lessebo Blossom Pink. Measure from the top edge down to 1-3/8″ on the right edge and make a light pencil mark. Cut diagonally from the top left corner down to the pencil mark on the right edge. Erase any trace of the pencil mark.

Now, cut the card insert at 4″ x 5-1/4″ from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White. Round the top left and right corners.

Create Library Pocket

Unfold the library pocket card base cut from Lessebo Bubble Gum Pink. Score 1/2″ inward on each side. Trim away the margin on the longer portion of the card base up to the score line. Measure from the top edge down to 1-1/2″ on the right edge and make a light pencil mark. Cut diagonally from the top left corner down to the pencil mark on the right edge. Erase any trace of the pencil mark. Miter the top left corner so it doesn’t protrude when the pocket is assembled.

Apply wet glue to the tabs, fold them inward and press to form the pocket. This is what your library pocket card should look like so far.

Add Background Stamping

Stamp as desired on the front layering panel. I used a two-step stamp set in my stash. I stamped the floral outlines in black ink and the fill-ins in several colors of dye inks.

Adhere Stamped Panel & Die Cuts

Firstly, adhere the stamped front layering panel to the library pocket card base.

Secondly, adhere a scalloped strip cut from Lessebo Bubble Gum Pink in an angled fashion to the card insert. Tip: Insert the card into the pocket and line up the strip with the angle of the pocket. Afterwards, adhere a coordinating floral cut from Lessebo Bubble Gum Pink, Lessebo Blossom Pink and Pop Tone Jellybean Green.

Add Sentiments

Stamp the front sentiment in black ink on a Solar White cardstock scrap and cut it with a round circle die. Attach it to the card front on adhesive foam squares.

Additionally, stamp the inside sentiment directly onto the card insert in black ink.
