Nautical Father’s Day Card

Let’s make a nautical Father’s Day Card! Hey there, it’s Judy here with my latest project for CutCardStock.

Materials

For this card I am using 3 pieces of card stock, some stamps, dies and an embossing folder. I’m also using Prismacolor Pencils for coloring and just a little bit of gray ink.

The card stocks I’m going with are Cougar White Smooth CardStock, Lessebo Navy Blue 83lb Cardstock and Lessebo Misty Blue 83lb Cardstock.

Choosing stamps for the focal and some dies is the first step.

Stamping

Secondly, I stamp the images I’m using as a focal and 2 for embellishing on a piece of Cougar White Smooth CardStock.

My next step is to color the images with Prismacolor Pencils.

Die Cutting & Embossing

Die cut a window out of Lessebo Navy Blue 83lb Cardstock. I die cut a ship’s wheel out of Lessebo Misty Blue 83lb Cardstock. Emboss a piece of Cougar White Smooth CardStock with a brick embossing folder. Fussy cut the rope and anchor/life ring.

Putting the Card Together

Make a 5 x 6 1/2 inch card base with Lessebo Misty Blue 83lb Cardstock. Score a 10 x 6 1/2 inch piece of the card stock at 5 inches along the 10 inch side and fold.

Cut a piece of Lessebo Navy Blue 83lb Cardstock to 4 3/4 x 6 1/4 inches for matting the embossed panel. The embossed panel measures 4 5/8 x 6 1/8 inches.

Take the die cut window and adhere to the focal image.

Lightly ink the embossed panel with gray ink.

Mat the panel with embossing with the Lessebo Navy Blue 83lb Cardstock piece cut above.

Also, I add a piece of mesh or netting to the left side for a little more texture.

Pop the window piece onto the panel with embossing with foam tape. Stamp a sentiment on Cougar White Smooth CardStock and fussy cut and adhere with foam tape.

Finally, add the ship’s wheel die cut, rope and anchor/life ring.
