Butterfly Mobile
Do you love working with SVG files? As a graphic designer, I love creating SVG files, and I will be sharing projects and SVG files with you. Hi, I am Janet from Try it – Like it – Create it, and I have a Butterfly Mobile to share as a part of the CutCardStock design team.

Today I am using an SVG file to create a 3-dimensional Butterfly Mobile. The butterflies are made using a vellum piece sandwiched between two cardstock pieces. Although they are substantial, they’re not heavy. So, this Butterfly Mobile would make a great addition to a sun porch or little girl’s room.

To get started, I used three different greens for the butterflies: Pop-Tone Card Stock in Spearmint, Green Curry, and Dark Teal. And the insides are Cover Weight Vellum.

Next, I sprayed the vellum with an iridescent shimmer spray on both sides. This was to curve the butterfly centers but it worked out and didn’t affect the end results.

Here are the butterflies put together with the vellum sandwiched between two pieces of card stock. One change I would make, however, would be to glue the fishing line into the butterfly sandwiches. I ended up gluing a small piece that was weeded from the butterfly wings into the center to cover up the fishing line.
