HI!

Hello everyone! Natalie here, and I’m excited to share my first project for the CutCardStock blog. I can’t believe I get to be part of such an amazing group of crafters and have the opportunity to work with a fun variety of cardstocks. This is truly exciting for me!

Can you spot the difference?

I have two different, yet similar cards to share with you today and I love how they turned out. The happy colors remind me of springtime and living in North Dakota I need a little of that right now! I used the same basic supplies for each card, the only difference being the stamped sentiment on the first card.

Lets begin by taking a quick look at the cards

My Process

I start by selecting the color palette and supplies for the cards. My goal for these was a bright and cheery look. I finally narrowed it down to the following.

For my card bases, I used Classic White cardstock, cutting them to 4 1/4 x 11 inches, then I scored each piece at 5 1/2 inches to create two top-folding card bases. I trimmed and die-cut the panels using two different sizes of Postage Stamp Nesting dies from Unity Stamp Co., either size looks great.

Next, I got to work on the flowers. I love how these turned out! The colors are amazing and really pop next to each other. I use my Spellbinders Bold Blooms for the flowers. An easy little tip is to roll the edges of the flowers with your finger to give a bit of curl, it can make such a difference with your flowers.

For the main image on my cards, I used Granny Smith cardstock, one of my favorite shades of green offered by CutCardstock. The “Hi” image is made from a die from The Stamp Market, I love the fun font! The stamped sentiment on the first card is also from The Stamp Market. When it is time to add my panel or embellishments to my card base, I generally use pop dots because I like the added depth and dimension they give to my finished project.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today, and I hope you have enjoyed my first CutCardStock project. It is going to be an awesome year and I look forward to posting more in the future! Be sure to look for me on Instagram.
