Watermarked Thank You Card

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday – I hope you’re having a great week! Do you like to have a variety of cards already made in your stash? I sure do! Leslie here, sharing a tutorial for making a pretty watermarked thank you card. Our Lessebo cardstock is on sale this month and I used a variety from that line. I chose Salt Water Blue, Amazon Dark Teal, Coffee Bean, Aubergine, Lilac and Amethyst. Can’t forget Neenah Classic Crest Solar White which is a staple in my studio. I’ve mentioned previously that Lessebo is my favorite cardstock. It replaced the Basis line last year, and the weight and colors are glorious. It makes THE best cards! I love a teal and purple color combo, so that’s the direction I went. I also did a little Versamark watermarking on the front and inside – a detail that’s really subtle but sure adds to the ‘wow’ factor!

Watermarked Thank You Card Base & Layers

Cut the card base from Lessebo Salt Water Blue.

Next, cut a front embellishing strip and inside layering panel from Lessebo Aubergine.

Similarly, cut an inside layering panel from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White.

Finally, cut inside embellishing strips from Lessebo Lilac and Lessebo Amethyst.

Create Focal Image

I used the Altenew Mini Delight: Celebratory Banner stamp and die set. However, just about any stamps and dies would work just fine. Die cut the banner elements from Lessebo Amazon Dark Teal, Lessebo Coffee Bean, Lessebo Aubergine, and Lessebo Amethyst. Heat emboss a sentiment in white embossing powder then assemble the banner.

Stamp and die cut two flowers from Lessebo Lilac, adding details and a little color with alcohol markers.

Add Watermarking

Mask off the top of the card front and the bottom of the inside panel. Using Versamark ink and a leaf stamp, randomly stamp leaves over the exposed areas of the card front and inside panel.

Adhere Layers

Adhere the embellishing strip and the banner to the card front. Add one of the flowers, popped up on adhesive foam squares.

Then, adhere the inside embellishing strips and a flower to the white inside panel. Glue the panel to the dark purple layer.

Add a few small teal gemstones to the card front.

Afterwards, stamp the inside sentiment (from a different stamp set) in black ink. The final step is to adhere the inside panel to the inside of the card base.

Summing up, these are the other products I used:
STAMPS: Altenew Mini Delight: Celebratory Banner Stamps; Altenew Mini Delight: Watering Daisies
INK: Versamark, Versafine Onyx Black ink; Copic Ciao- BV31 Pale Lavender, E33 Sand , E35 Chamois
DIES/PUNCHES: Altenew Mini Delight: Celebratory Banner Dies
ACCESSORIES: Fiskars 12″ ProCision Rotary Bypass Paper Trimmer, Bearly Art precision craft glue, My Sweet Petunia Precision Glue Press, Mini MISTI, Big Shot, Hero Arts White Embossing Powder, Milwaukee Heat Tool, Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Squares, small teal gemstones
