Hello, hello! Samantha here with a fun project to share with you today. I had such a great time creating my little cards in my mini card mini-series, but I needed something to gift them in. I’m going to be sharing two different box styles with you; entirely hand made.
Today I’m going to share box style 1 of 2. These boxes will hold 3″ x 3″ cards and their envelopes.
Let’s begin!
You will need the following:
- Basis White 80lb Cardstock for the lid cut to 5″ x 5.”
- Basis White 80lb Cardstock for the base cut to 5.5″ x 5.5.”
- Score-Tape Premium Double-Sided Adhesive
- Scoring board
- Bone folder
- Patterned paper or other decorations of your choice
Trim a sliver (approximately 1/8″) from two sides of the base piece.
Score the base piece at 1″ on all four sides
Next, you’re going to make the flaps. Make sure you cut before the scoreline. Here’s a close-up photo to show you what I mean.
Miter your corners like so. Repeat on all four sides.
Add Score-Tape to the flaps and burnish the folds down. You want these folds to be nice and crisp.
Remove the tape backing from your Score-Tape and assemble the base.
Repeat for the lid, omitting the trimming and scoring at .75″ on all four sides.
That’s all. Decorate to your liking.
I hope that you’ll be inspired to create a mini card gift box of your own. Make sure to tag @CutCardStock on social media so that we can see what you make and don’t forget to subscribe to the blog. You won’t want to miss my second design!
Until next time,
Samantha
Let’s be friends!
