Mistletoe Christmas Card

Hey everybody! Happy Tuesday – I hope you’re having a nice week so far! How are you doing with your Christmas crafting? I’m ready to send out cards but I’m still making them… something I do all year long! Leslie here, sharing a tutorial for the easiest Christmas card ever – a mistletoe Christmas card. I won the 3D embossing folder and die set used to make this card in an Instagram giveaway recently. They are pretty awesome, so naturally I couldn’t wait to use them! I used Stardream Metallic Jupiter for the embossed background panel. Pulled in Stardream Metallic Eris for the bow. Then Stardream Metallic Fairway, Scottish Highlands Green and Habanero Red for the mistletoe. So let’s get started!

Create Mistletoe Christmas Card Focal

Die cut the mistletoe pieces. Use Stardream Metallic Eris for the bow. Next, use Stardream Metallic Fairway and Scottish Highlands Green for the leaves. Finally, use Habanero Red for the berries.

Accordingly, assemble the mistletoe and set it aside.

Emboss Background Panel

Cut a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ panel of Stardream Metallic Jupiter. Lightly spritz the back of the panel with water and place it in a leaf pattern 3D embossing folder. Run it through your die cutting machine and set it aside. The light spritz of water helps break down the cardstock fibers which yields a deeper embossed effect.

Cut Card Base & Layers

Cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock.

Then, cut an inside layering panel and embellishing strip from Habanero Red cardstock.

Next, cut an inside layering panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock.

Finally, cut a narrow embellishing strip (for the inside) from Scottish Highlands Green cardstock.

Adhere Layers

Glue the red and green embellishing strips to the inside white panel. Afterwards, adhere the panel to the red layer and add a couple berries to the lower right corner.

Assemble Card Front & Add Stamping

Affix the embossed panel to the front of the card base and adhere the mistletoe.

Stamp the front sentiment in green ink on a scrap piece of Solar White and cut it with a stitched oval die. Add it to the card front, popped up on adhesive foam squares.

Additionally, stamp the inside sentiment in green ink directly on the inside panel.

Add several iridescent gemstones to the card front.

Adhere the inside panel to the inside of the card base, which will complete the project.

INK: Memento Olive Grove ink
