Plaid Tag Bag Tote
Do you lose track of your Christmas wrapping supplies? Hi, it’s Maureen with you today and I am always losing track of wrapping tools, especially the tags! I’ve got a solution for you and an adorable idea for a gift as well. We are making tag bag totes from the CutCardStock papers today!

This tote is also a great gift box and it can hold other things too, like candy or a small treat. Anyone who would enjoy a handmade gift could always use gift tags around the holidays, or for any occasion for that matter!
Tag Box
I started with cutting out two large tags from a Sizzix die cut in Lessebo Blossom paper. Next, take an extra piece of the Lessebo Blossom and cut it in a rectangle at 6″ by 5″.

Score the rectangle with a score board on the long side at 1.5″ and 4.5″. Turn the piece around and score it at .5″ on either side. Then, trim a small triangle at each score line on the long side to create tabs for the box.

Fold up the Lessebo Blossom box and adhere the ends to the backside of one of the Lessebo Blossom large tags. Save the second tag for decorating before you adhere the other end.

On the second Lessebo Blossom large tag, we will create a plaid backdrop using strips of assorted paper colors. I chose Mirrisparkle Silver, Lessebo Cherry Red, Basis Green and Classic Crest Solar White. Trim the widths of these in varying sizes – I did a variety of 1/8″, 1/4″ and 1/2″. Begin with the first strip and adhere it diagonally across the tag panel.

Follow the pattern with the additional strips, leaving space in between. Then, trim off the ends of the strips. You can use these pieces again! Note – make sure your ends are laying over the edges so you don’t cut too short.

Now do the same thing going the opposite direction to create a criss-cross pattern. Keep going until your panel is full. If needed, punch the tag hole again if it was covered during application. Adhere this to the other end of your gift box and let dry.

Gift Tags
To create the tags, cut a set of Classic Crest Solar White papers with a favorite die cut shape or electronic machine. I have several tag shapes in my stash and this stitched set fits nicely in the box.

Next, cut assorted strips of the Basis Green, Mirrisparkle Silver, Lessebo Blossom Pink and Lessebo Cherry Red just like you did for the box. Repeat the process of adhering these diagonally across the tags.

Next, select a bow shaped die cut and cut two large bows in Lessebo Cherry Red and Basis Green. Repeat this process with a slightly smaller bow. If you don’t have a bow die cut, electronic machines will have assortments to choose from. You can also hand cut your own by cutting a wave shape similar to the ones shown in the picture.

Adhere the middles of each bow together with glue. If you’re using wet glue, allow time to dry by holding these together with a clamp. One tip – a low heat glue gun works best for quick assembly.

Apply the smaller bow on top of the larger one and glue into place. I’ve chosen contrasting colors for each bow. Then, cut a third bow from the Lessebo Blossom Pink, assemble and tie a set of sleigh bells around the middle with some twine.
Glue the bows to the tops of your striped tags and add twine and other accents as desired. Attach the Lessebo Blossom Pink bow to the top side of the box. Then insert a paper straw into the larger holes of the box for a handy carrying case!
I’m so excited to give this box as a gift for an upcoming event! It’s such a pretty way to add some fun to your packages. Do you make your own gift wrap and tags? Please let me know in the comments.

I’m here to remind you to check out the November sales this month – we have a great selection of deals on the Lessebo papers, and they are so much fun to work with. Thanks for stopping by!
