Walk Among the Trees layout
Happy Wednesday, CutCardStock friends! Cassie here with you today. Fall weather has finally started to make an appearance here in the Pacific Northwest. Since I am still waiting for the leaves to change I decided to scrap about our Summer trip.
One of my favorite things about living here is getting out into nature. This past Summer we visited the Lake Quinault Rainforest. It was simply stunning! I decided to use one of the photos I took while walking on the Big Maple Trail to create my layout.
Getting Started

Usually I start by gathering my cardstock colors, but for this page I started by picking out my cut file. I knew this shadow box cut file would be perfect because I love all the different layers. Once I picked out the cut file, it was time to gather all of the cardstock colors that I would need.
I started with a piece of the DCS Canvas Textured Wedding Cake White cardstock to use as my outside frame. The other colors are DCS Canvas Textured Lava Stone Gray cardstock, DCS Canvas Textured Scottish Highlands Green cardstock, Bazzill Marble Easter Grass cardstock, DCS Wild Blueberry Navy cardstock, DCS Blue Calico Discount cardstock, DCS Canvas Textured Surf cardstock, DCS Pearlized Textured Jet Stream Blue cardstock, DCS Canvas Textured Yellow Jacket cardstock and DCS Light Yellow cardstock.

It was time to put my Silhouette to work and cut out all eleven layers. I went ahead and cut two tree layers out of the same color of green cardstock with plans to ink one layer a little darker.

With all the layers cut out, I started by inking the top green layer with some rustic wilderness Distress Ink. Once that was done, I assembled all the layers together. As a final touch to the background I added some gold ink splatters.

Finishing the Page

Now with my background complete it was time to add my photo and title. I went simple with my photo and layered two tags behind my photo. The smaller tag pulls out to reveal my journaling. I used a puffy alphabet sticker to create my title and placed it at the bottom of the page. As a final touch I added some messy string behind my photo, phrase chipboard stickers and some gold glitter enamel dots.

I really hope that you enjoyed this shadowbox style layout. Thanks for joining me today!
