A7 Envelope Book

We all know summer is prime time for vacations, right? And, if you’re like me you may accumulate keepsakes when you go on vacation. Or, you take lots of photos!

Hey there! It’s Judy here sharing a little Envelope Book project. This book is filled with pockets to put those vacation keepsakes in and/or add some photos. I constructed this book with A7 envelopes and card stock from CutCardStock. This is an easy and fun project and envelopes are the July Monthly Specials at CutCardStock.

Materials

8 Envelopes, Chipboard Card Stock & Patterned Paper; Adhesive, Paper Trimmer, Scissors, Scoreboard

Book Cover

Starting with the book cover, cut two pieces Kraft Chipboard 1/4″ larger than the envelopes. I cut mine at 7-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ as I used BROWN BAG Kraft Euro Flap A7 Envelopes which measure 7-1/4″ x 5-1/4″.

Next, cut a piece of card stock the same length as the chipboard and 3-1/2″ wide. I used DCS Discount Card Stock: Pearlized Textured Jet Stream Blue. Score this piece at 1″ and 1-1/2″ along the 3-1/2″ side. Burnish the score lines. This forms the spine.

Also, you’ll need patterned card stock. I used digital papers printed on Cougar NATURAL 80 lb. Card Stock for the cover and pages of the book. Cover the chipboard pieces with your choice of patterned card stock. Attach the scored piece of card stock. Adhere the 1″ side to the right side of the front cover. Next, adhere the other end (measuring 2″) to the left side of the back cover. This leaves 1/2″ to form the spine.

Book Pages

The book pages consist of the envelopes. Add glue to the triangular flap of each envelope and stack. Make sure the envelopes face the same way.

Glue the stack of envelopes to the inside front and back covers. The full front of the first envelope will be glued to the inside front cover. Adhere the flap of the last envelope to the inside back cover.

Decorating

Now let’s decorate to complete the project! First, I printed digital clip art on Cougar NATURAL 80 lb. Card Stock. Secondly, I die cut letters from DCS Discount Card Stock: Textured Indigo Blue Card Stock to spell “summer fun”.

Add the patterned card stock and clip art to the inside pages. I left the pocket side of the envelopes plain to add those keepsakes, photos or whatever!
