Embossing on Metallic Cardstock – cute puppy!

Hello! Oh my, do I love the Stardream Metallic Cardstock!!! I try to find a way to use it in almost all of my projects. I also love dogs 🙂 so I try to incorporate dogs into a lot of my projects!

I wanted to do some Copic coloring so I started by stamping my image and sentiment onto the Cougar Super Smooth 80# cardstock using an alcohol marker safe ink. I colored this adorable puppy using Copics to look like my beautiful little beagle, Ruby.

Now it is time to get started with the real fun! I used an A2 sized panel of the Stardream Metallic Lagoon cardstock and put that into my stamp positioner. I am using a red rubber background stamp, so I took out the mousepad insert that I usually have in my MISTI. How cute are all those paws?!

I used an antistatic powder tool all over this panel to help prevent my embossing powder from sticking where I didn’t want it to stick.

Then, I stamped the background with embossing ink and am putting clear embossing powder over the entire panel.

It is time to heat set the powder and watch the magic!

When the powder is all melted, we have this awesome, subtle background of paw prints all over that beautiful metallic cardstock. What is next? Add more metallic cardstock! I cut my panel with the colored image down using a stitched rectangle die and matted that onto a piece of Stardream Metallic Punch cardstock – I LOVE this color! I used some foam adhesive to adhere that onto the metallic lagoon background panel.

How cute is that?! I love these two colors together and that embossing on the background just finishes the background off so nicely.

But it needed something else…hearts! I used the Stardream Metallic Punch to die cut some little hearts to add as embellishments on this adorable dog card. I hope you enjoyed this project today!
