Halloween Care Packages

There is nothing quite like getting mail, especially in a digital world. It’s fun, of course, if it’s the fun kind. I’m not talking about bills or junk, but a special surprise in the mailbox. Why not brighten someone’s day with a care package this Fall?

I like the simplicity of this project. With a simple box and CutCardStock paper, you can come up with great ideas for family or friends who live far away! Since Halloween is nearly here, I decided to share a boo box idea with you, but this idea works for any time of year.

I’m working with a 11.5” by 9” cardboard box, and I’ve measured the side and top panels on all exposed sides, which are perfect lengths for an 8.5” by 11” papers. I cut a background paper for those panels in Pop Tone Orange Fizz paper, and glued to the inside flaps.

Next, I’ve cut my pieces to decorate from both a Cricut machine and assorted die cuts. The 3” letters and spider features are die cuts done in Pop Tone Black Licorice.

I’ve also cut an assortment of circles in Pop Tone Limeade Green, DCS Discount Purple along with ghosts from my Cricut in Basis White 80lb. More of the Pop Tone Black Licorice was used for the trim and web decorations too.

Next glue on the pieces and dust the edges with some black ink and a sponge.

Then fill with your favorite goodies and even some shredded card stock, if you want! The great thing about care packages you do yourself is they can be personalized with names or special themes important to you. This box was a “boo” theme so I did orange and black items and ghosts as our special theme.

Think about the last time you sent out some mail that was just for fun. Who deserves a special treat this year? If this project inspired you, I hope you save it to Pinterest for future reference! This month, make sure to check out the specials going on with the Orange, Brown and Gold papers on CutCardStock.com – just in time for Autumn! Happy Haunting!
