Cards Your Valentine Will “Die” For

February is here already! If you have been too busy to think about making valentine cards, and now you think it’s getting a bit “dice-y” to make any in time, don’t worry! “Luck” is on your side, because I have an idea for quick and easy cards with few supplies. All it takes is some CutCardStock papers and a punny sense of humor.

I have created “die” cards using just a few “dies.” See what I did there?? Okay, I’m getting carried away now, ha ha. All you need for this project is a 2.25″ circle die cut and a 2″ heart die cut. My paper color choices for the cards are Stardream Metallic Onyx Black and Stardream Metallic White Pluto. But any color you choose will be guaranteed to look fabulous!

Cut your Onyx Black and White Pluto at 5″ by 10″ each, then score at 5″ to make a square card. Next, take a corner rounder punch and round off the corners.

Using your die cuts and a die cut machine, make 4 circles in Onyx Black and 4 circles in White Pluto. Then, cut 2 hearts in Stardream Jupiter Red.

To give the cards some dimension, I’m using foam squares (otherwise known as pop dots) to adhere the dots and hearts to the card. I recommend taking a minute to lay them out so you know they are aligned on all sides and even.

For my sentiments, I didn’t have any stamps that suited me, so I went ahead and took some time to type up some funny puns on my computer. I printed them on Basis White 80lb. paper and trimmed them like flags.

These are glued underneath one of the circles. If it goes over the edge, simply make sure you have an envelope that fits your card!

Besides Valentine’s Day, this idea would “roll” well with other events like anniversaries, birthdays or even good luck cards. Feel free to “shake” things up and give it a try!

Okay – I am taking a big “gamble” with all the puns in this blog post, so it’s time to end for now, tee hee. I hope you’ll take a moment to check out the latest sales on the CutCardStock website this month. Thanks for joining me today!
