Beautiful Glitter Roses Card

Hi everyone! It’s Janet here with a card highlighting the use of gorgeous glitter cardstock. Usually I use glitter as a background or small touch but today I’m showing off a card that uses glitter cardstock for the main image.

The first step to making this card was to download a cut file from Silhouette from Jennifer Wambach. It’s called Rose Bouquet #63793. It features a spray of greenery and two beautiful roses. After purchasing the file, I sized it to fit on a 5 x 7 card front. I created my own Hello sentiment using the Countryside font and then created the shadow to go behind it. You could use any phrase with this card to make it for Mother’s Day, a birthday, a wedding or even thinking of you. Making your own shadow sentiment is easy to do with Silhouette Studio. Below are all the pieces on my mat after I cut them on my Silhouette Cameo 4 machine.

CutCardstocks Used:

Silk Glitter Red Flash , CCS Silver Glitter, Basis Green, Pop Tone Gumdrop Green

I stacked the silver glitter over the red glitter roses and also glued the Hello phrase on its shadow.

To finish, I added a layer of double-sided foam adhesive squares behind the main flower and light green spray. Then that was stacked on top of the dark green spray. I used a touch of Peeled Paint Distress Oxide ink on the light green piece to add a little shading.

I also cut a scalloped rectangle to use as a mat on my machine. To add more dimension and interest, I embossed it using a Cuttlebug folder called Bit of Paisley.

You can see the pretty details of the card below including some green half back pearls to accent the card. The glitter cardstock in this image is so beautiful!
