Layered Floral Frame Window Card

Hello Crafty Friends! Its Teri with TerisMailbox presenting for CutCardStock today. I selected some gorgeous coral cardstock to pair with a deep navy background.

Check out how the flowers pop when paired with Navy.

Create the Floral Window

Start with an A2 size panel of Basis Blue Cardstock. Use double sided wide tape to attach a 4 x 5.25 inch piece of dark fun foam. Center the oval die from Altenew’s Layered Ornate Frame set and die cut. The die will make two cuts creating a window plus the wreath frame layer. Remove only the center section leaving the frame intact. Attach the panel to an A2 card base. I love to use Cougar White 100 lb Cardstock as my go to for bases.

Die Cut the Flowers and Leaves

Check out these gorgeous blooms. I used a combination of Basis Olive, Pop Tone Jelly Bean for the leaves. Basis Coral, DCS Flamingo, Bazzill Peach and DSC Wild Salmon provided the gorgeous coral hues for the blooms. After die cutting all the pieces, I layered them by adding dots of white glue.

I used Copper Metallic Cardstock from my stash for both the frame plus the sentiment cut using Altenew’s Fancy Hello die. The copper is a nice contract to the Navy background. Cut two additional white hellos for layering.

Assemble the Floral Frame

Start by gluing the copper frame pieces to the base in the coordinating spaces. Continue gluing flowers and leaves until the frame is completely covered.

Finish the Card

Glue one layer of white cardstock to the copper hello. Identify where you want the floral frame to be over the window. Trim the last layer of the white cardstock so it is only in the open space to pop up the copper hello. Glue that layer on and then attach the sentiment to the card. Use Yellow Nuvo Drops for the flower centers. Set aside to dry.
