One thing I love about being a card maker is that I get to make special cards for those extra special moments. Welcoming a new baby is one of those times. I don’t know about you but I think it’s hard to find anything more precious than a sleeping baby. Today’s card celebrates all the loved sleeping babies everywhere!
This card features the lustrous Curious Metallic cardstock line at CutCardstock. It’s described as metallic but it has an almost glowing texture to it. It’s very soft and it lends itself perfectly to baby crafting whether that used for invitations, cards, favor boxes and more.
To begin, I stamped a background of pastels using Oxide inks and the Star Light Star Bright Bold Prints stamp from Hero Arts on a panel of Curious Metallic Ice Silver cardstock. This created a pastel galaxy effect that has a soft sheen in the light. I cut the finished panel out with a stitched die. Next I cut the sweet Bear on Cloud and Moon die from CottageCutz.
The baby bear was cut out of Curious Metallic Chocolate cardstock. His nose was cut of Curious Metallic Champagne cardstock. The cloud, diaper and bow were cut of more Ice Silver cardstock. I colored the bow and diaper with a bit of pink R20 Copic marker.
After putting the bear together, I attached it to the cloud and placed it on the oxide panel. I also cut the word Baby out of Mirri Sparkle Pink Saphire cardstock and glued it to the panel.
I cut a larger panel from Rose Gold Curious Metallic cardstock and glued it to an A2 card base I made of 80 lb. Basis White cardstock. This is my favorite cardstock for card bases and it comes in many colors for every occasion. To finish this card, I added a few clear sequins and small pearls.
I really love the soft sweet look of this card. The photo doesn’t do the colored panel justice because it practically glows and has a lot of depth that the camera doesn’t pick up. But really, isn’t this bear so cute?
Curious Metallic cardstock made this design stand out and it’ll make yours extra special too. Check out the CutCardStock store for the entire Curious Metallic line which comes in many, many colors. Your biggest problem will be choosing which colors to put in your stash!
