Superstar Scrapbook Layout

I love how bright colors and white POP out on black, especially on this Superstar scrapbook layout! It makes those colors seem so bright. I pulled out some beautiful metallic paper and paired them with Black Basis. The white cut file was perfect for this photo of my nephew. I love the way it turned, and I hope you do too. Also, that you are inspired to make some color pops of your own.
I started by pulling out my cardstock. I used Curious Metallic Peacock, Curious Metallic Electric Blue, Curious Metallic Lime, and Curious Metallic Mandarin. Then, I used the 4 colors to back the music lines of the heart cut file and a few stars, so they matched. Once completed, I used some acetate and covered the rest of the heart. I filled the heart with some music notes sequins.
While backing the file, I used foam tape to block off the heart. This allows the sequins to stay in an area and not pile up at the bottom or corners. I used the Curious Metallic Poison Ivory to back this.
Once completed, I flipped over the heart and used it to spray my white mixed media onto the black. This helps to ensure it can be seen after the cut file attached. I hate when I make a really cool background and then cover it all up. This is something I do simply because I like my time and effort to be seen. 🙂
Now is the fun part! Embellishing is always the fun part. As usual, I pulled out a bunch of different options for this page. I wanted to keep it simple. That heart is a big POP on this page, so I didn’t want to take away from that too much. Ultimately, I decided to put my photo on top of the cut file. I felt it made the photo the focal point and then the cut file. I used some patterns from the Cocoa Vanilla Legendary collection. The colors worked very nice with the metallic papers, adding extra detail without taking away from anything.

After playing around with some different things, I finally landed on what I wanted. Throwing in some epoxy flair, phrases, washi, Nuvo drops, and finally some tiny music notes. The last thing I added was wood veneer stars and colored them with Nuvo Glitter markers.
This came together super quick and was super fun. My nephew is playing the trumpet. I have a very musically inclined family. We have a Saxophone player, Trumpet, Flute, Guitar, and a little piano. It’s awesome they are learning young. It’s so easy for them!
I hope you find some inspiration from my Superstar scrapbook layout, and that you share below anything you’ve created.
Happy Crafting!
