“Are You My Mummy?” Paper Tearing Technique with Linda Matthews
By using CutCardstock’s papers and a few inks, I will show you how easy it is to make a complicated-looking Halloween card using the paper tearing technique.
Supplies needed for this card:
- Black Cardstock (CutCardstock’s Pop-Tone Black Licorice 110lb)
- White Cardstock (CutCardstocks’s Basis White 110llb)
- Paper Circle Punch (two sizes)
Ink (black and purple)
- Coloring Markers
- Stamp Sentiment

Cut your card base into a 4-1/4” x 11” base from Pop-Tone Black Licorice Cardstock, folding it in half to form the card base.

Take a full-sized sheet of Basis White Cardstock and tear it into one-inch paper strips.

Ink the paper strips edges in your choice of ink color.

Adhere the paper strips in layers on the front of your card base. Trim the excess paper from the card front’s edges.

Create eyes using a paper punch. Use two different sizes to make the mummy’s eyes in Pop-Tone Black Licorice and Basis White Cardstock.
Layer the circles to make the eyes, adhere the eyes to the card front.

Stamp the sentiment into the lower right corner and color using your favorite markers.

Voilà. Our card is done.
