One thing I know…I love the look of glitter, with all the sparkle and sheen, but I don’t like the shedding! That’s where glitter cardstock comes in! All of the elegance, and none of the mess!

For my Mother’s Day card today, I am using two glitter cardstocks: Gold Glitter Mirrisparkle and Glitter Pink Sapphire Mirrisparkle.  I am also using some Prima flowers, a piece of patterned paper, and a cover plate die cut from Reverse Confetti.

The first step, after cutting the die, was to adhere the cover plate to the trimmed patterned paper, making sure my little bird could be seen. A “cover plate” is the full A2 size, and will cover the front of a cardstock base. You can see the base, cut and already scored, under the panel. I have used Basis White #110 for the base this time. It’s an excellent, heavy cardstock that will hold the shape of the card.

I arranged three of the paper floral sprays in the corner, and once happy with the placement, I adhered them to the front of my card using 1/2″ wide Scor-Tape. I decided to add a little lace (which I should have added before the flowers!) across the front to give it a more feminine look and then added a die cut “love” using the Pink Sapphire Glittle Mirrisparkle Cardstock.

Just enough sparkle and glitz for my bird-loving, green thumb mother-in-law!  Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to follow us on Instagram for all the sparkly goodness this month!
