Hello! I started off by printing the images onto vellum using my All-in-1 HP Printer. I let it sit for a few minutes to make sure the ink set.
I started to use copics, but it didn’t look so good. So I tried Faber-Castell pencils (any pencils will do). Very LIGHTHANDEDLY, I colored my images. Now, I know I wouldn’t be able to get the same depth and contour I would with other mediums on regular cardstock, but that wasn’t my goal. I just wanted to color the images, so they looked pretty 😉
I blended them with Gamsol, just to smooth out any harsh lines. I put a white page under the vellum so I could see it well.
After I was done coloring my images, I fussy cut them. They are from Isabel Cristina Magnolia set. I used Lawn Fawn’s Reversed Scallop Die to create the frame and CutCardStock’s CTI Glama Natural Translucent (vellum) cardstock #48lb. I love vellum, and this vellum is of excellent quality!
On my second sheet of Vellum, I printed “Wishing You An Amazing Birthday”. I sized it and printed it onto regular printer paper first to make sure it was a perfect size.
I put the frame on top of that piece of vellum. Once dry, I flipped it over and used Darice Foam Strips. They are FABULOUS and so convenient:
I doubled up on the strips to make sure there was enough room for the shaker bits to move around freely. I added my iridescent sequins and iridescent chunky glitter, then added it to the card base.
Then, before I glued my flowers to the front, I added some Perfect Pearls for a bit of shimmer. I brushed the powder on top of the areas where I applied the pen.
Once that was done, I used my Zig 2-Way Pen (chisel tip) and brushed on glue to the back of the vellum flowers. This caused the vellum to curl a bit, but that’s ok. Just hold your hand down on top until the glue dries. Once that was done, the card was done!
I love Vellum and I am very happy with how this came out. I printed and colored on it with no problems whatsoever. This is the kind I used:
Thank you so much for stopping by and reading along with my process.
