Stamped Plaid Gift Tag

With the holidays fast approaching, and the great sale of red, white and green cardstock over at CutCardStock.com, it’s the perfect time to get a jump on holiday crafting.

I love to have lots of handmade tags on hand during the holidays. Even as a last minute gift, it’s easy to add a handmade tag and make any packaging look a little extra special.  This tag was fun and easy!

First, I stamped my plaid background on 130# Neenah Solar white cardstock. I chose the heavier weight of this cardstock since it won’t have the extra support of a card base.

Then, I added the green stripes to finish the plaid. I also used the same green ink pad to color the cardstock to the exact shade I wanted. The solar white cardstock takes the ink beautifully!

I die cut the tag, holly branches and the hole reinforcer using thin dies and my Big Shot machine.

For the greeting, I stamped with Versamark ink on Basis Dark Red, and heat embossed in white.  Using an anti-static tool is really helpful, especially when using white embossing powder on dark cardstock.

Then, I assembled all the pieces.  I didn’t want to add dimension to the greeting, but it needed to stick well over the texture of the branches behind it. Glue dots were just what I needed.

Thanks for stopping by, and remember to take a little time to be creative! -Amber
