I love that just by seeing Fall colors, you get a feeling for what the season is all about. A calm warmth, getting settled in for the colder weather, leaves changing, hot drinks :)…..For today’s project, I wanted to capture that feeling on a card with some ink blending and simple stamping.
I started off with a white card panel I cut down to 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ and stamped some trees and a sentiment onto the front to create a scene.
I wasn’t sure where I wanted to place more trees, so I started my ink blending to kind of see what I wanted to do next. I used Distress Oxide inks coming in from the sides, then the top and middle in Fall themed colors of red, yellow and orange.
For the ground, I added some green along with a little gray.
After all of the ink blending was done, I added a couple more trees along with some birds using black ink. I added my panel to another panel of Currency Cover Gold cardstock (5 5/16″ x 4 1/16″) and then added that panel to a notecard created with Pop Tone Hot Fudge Cardstock. The Hot Fudge cardstock is such a nice, rich brown–so perfect for Fall-themed projects. I love how it looks with the gold peeking out a little.
Thanks so much for joining me today. I hope your Fall season is getting off to a great start. Be sure to head over to the CutCardstock shop where orange, brown and gold cardstock are all on sale this month. Have a great day!
