Hi Friends!! kel here today 🙂 with a super fun and bright card for a very special someone!
I started with some super fun
Astrobrights Cardstock. When I looked at this pack tonight I thought, this is a RAINBOW of colors to choose from, and then went “duh! Let’s do a rainbow card!” And apologies for being so crazy… we just got back from an almost 2 week trip to Japan and my mind is still not quite home yet!!
I pulled the following colors because I thought they were perfect rainbow colors:
And then cut each of them down to 3.75″ x 5″ pieces. Then I cut that piece down into thirds, ending up with 1.25″ x 5″ pieces.
I ran each of those pieces through my diecut machine… And to make sure they all would line up with the same curve, I used the first piece I cut as a guide (with a little bit of washi to hold it in place!)
And then took off the guide piece before I actually die-cut… I didn’t want to leave any funky extra impressions on either piece!
I totally thought I had measured correctly and ended up being wrong lol! I told you my brain was not quite home yet!! But I lined up my pieces on a piece of Eclipse Black Astrobrights Cardstock cut to a regular mat size, 4″ x 5.25″ starting with the purple and then working backwards to the red side.
My fix was to add an extra wave of pink! I think pink can appropriately be placed in a rainbow, don’t you?? haha! The last thing I did was cut the “love” sentiment out of another piece of
Eclipse Black Astrobrights Cardstock and pop it up with some
squares cut into really thin strips. (P.S. – these
3D strips probably would have worked just as well, I just couldn’t find them in my stash lol!)
I totally have more pieces to play with and make a few more of these cards. Love them and their fun and super bright rainbow!!
