Happy New Year!! Need some quick thank you’s? Here are a few ideas. I used the bright and bold colors in the Astrobright Card Stock collection to make these cards. Along with some die-cuts and ink blending, I finished them in no time.
For the card base, I used the Cougar A7 Folded Invitations and cut them in half. I ended up with two card bases from each invitation. Each card base is 3-1/2″ x 5″. It’s a nice size for thank you cards.
For the background, I did some ink blending. I try to keep all my ink pads swatched to make it easier when picking colors. Here you can see I’m matching up the Terrestrial Teal Astrobright Card Stock.
I decided to used Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers.
For some of the cards, I created a frame for the ink blending by taping off the edges. During all the holiday sales, I treated myself to these new blending brushes. I really like how well they work.
I have several different Thanks dies in my collection. So I thought I’d use all of them. But you could get a similar look using the same die-cut with varying colors of cardstock. For these cards, I used the Astrobright Card Stock in Terrestrial Teal, Sunburst Yellow, and Terra Green.
After die-cutting and ink blending, all that was left to do was glue the Thanks sayings to the card base. I added a few sequins and gems to some of them.
After finishing the blue, green, yellow cards, I created extra ones in different colors. For the next one, I used Astrobright Card Stock in Galaxy Gold, Fireball Fuschia, and Gravity Grape.
For the last one, I used left-over die-cuts from previous cards. This one uses Sunburst Yellow, Orbit Orange, and Fireball Fuschia. Many times I stack several layers of cardstock to get a little depth on my cards. I didn’t have time for that but still like how these turned out. Thought I’d mention that to give you another idea to add something even more to your cards.
Now all I need to do is get these in the mail to let loved ones know they are appreciated. If you’re interested in the beautiful bold colors of the Astrobright Card Stock, they are on sale this month.
