Hello Cut Cardstock Fans~ It’s cold outside but it’s spring time in my craft room! Birgit here with you today making some dimentional flowers using lots of great cardstock from CutCardstock.
Here’s a snapshot of the products I used today:
I started with the beautiful large rose first by cutting the rose petals from Astrobrights 65# Plasma Pink Cardstock. I added a bit of red color to the centers and white to the edge of each petal using Panpastels.
I then molded the petals on a soft molding mat using a ball stylus. The 65# weight of this cardstock makes it the perfect choice for shaped flowers and the colors are so vivid and bright. Just look at the wonderful detail on the molded petals. Beautiful!
Next is the carnations.. The petals of the carnations were cut using Neenah 80# Solar White Cardstock. I rubbed a bit of distress ink in the centers and edges of each of the flowers and molded them as well.
I assembled all of the flowers using Glossy Accents because it is a super strength glue. Look how beautiful they turned out!
These little flowers were also cut from 80# Neenah Solar White Cardstock. I added distress ink to the centers of the petals and used a copic marker to color the indentation on the petals. I finished them off by adding pink prills to the centers of each of the flowers.
The leaves were cut from 65# Pop Tones Gumdrop Green. I added a bit of Crushed Olive Distress Ink to the edges.
I’ve had this heart shaped box sitting in my closet of shame for a very long time and finally pulled it out for this project. I cut a heart slightly smaller than the box out of Astrobright Re-Entry Red and glued it to the top of the box using Tombow Mono Multi-Purpose Liquid Adhesive. I then cut a doily out of Neenah Solar White Cardstock and adhered that to the top of the box as well.
Next, I added the leaves and then played around with the design. This is the finished project. You can see that I added some ivy vine which was cut out of Astrobrights 65# Gamma Green.
I also added yellow prills to the centers of the carnations for a more finished look.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project and are inspired to try making some dimensional flowers of your own. CutCardstock has all the products you need to make beautiful floral arrangements and this month you’ll find all the Astrobright Cardstock on sale.
I’m so glad you stopped by for a visit! You can find more details about the dies I used when you visit my blog. Blessings~ Birgit
