As a former teacher, I decided to create a set of thank you cards for a current teacher.  There are times when a special thank you note needs to be written, what better way than to use a hand crafted card.

I started by die cutting a peck of apples from Esse Pearl Latte Cardstock. I watercolored the apple using the Gansai Tambi Watercolors. I added a little yellow which made them look more realistic. I love how the metallic shimmer shows through the water color. It gives the apple such a subtle shimmer.

While the apples were drying, I doddled around the edge of Esse Pearl Latte for the top layer (3 3/4″ x 5″).  Then I layered an Esse Pearl Latte cardbase with Basis Red Cardstock (4″ x 5 1/4″).
Once the apples were dried I added some details to the leaves using a Zig Millennium Black Fine Line Marker and a highlight to the apple with a White Uniball Singo Gel Roller Pen. Then I attached the apples to the cardfront.  I used foam tape to attach the top apple. Last I added the words “thank you” cut from Chocolate Curious Metallic
All tied up with some twine ready to give as a gift.
