Hero Tag

We are sharing lots of inspiration for masculine cards and projects this month on the blog! Amber here, and I thought I would show an easy way to add some pizzazz to a tag; you can easily make this and share with a special man in your life….

I started by stamping my images on Savoy 100% Cotton cardstock. I like this cardstock for simple watercoloring. Because it’s not true watercolor paper, I don’t over-saturate it and it works really well!

I colored my images with just a few Distress inks and a watercolor brush. I colored more than I ended up using, but I kind of designed my tag as I went. I’ll save the extras for another project…

I cut a simple tag shape from Basis Natural cardstock and then embossed it. I used the ink blending tool to add a little color and make the texture “pop” even more.

For the sentiment and hole reinforcer, I used Brown Bag Kraft. The sentiment is stamped in black pigment ink and then heat embossed with a bit of clear embossing powder.

To finish off the tag, I adhered my birds and added two types of fiber for some added interest, and give myself a way to hang this tag from the bottle.
