Hello CutCardStock.com friends and welcome back! It’s Kristie Larsen here to share with you a very simple but very elegant wedding card. Here is my completed card.
I started with some Flavours Gourmet card stock in a light grey. I then embossed some flowers with white embossing powder. I started small, laying out the images one by one until I got a look that I wanted.
I purposely left it non-symetrical, because I think this added some modern elegance. I added a double layered sentiment using some vellum underneath some Flavours Gourmet dark blue. I love how it creates a nice shadow. I finished it off with some rain stones.
I think this is a great way to make up wedding cards as they happen through the year. Once you know the brides colours you can change the card base and sentiment colours to match. I think the embossing is a simple yet elegant way to make up a card. I have many friends who don’t like a lot of layers on cards. It keeps it hand made yet modern and not too crafty. This card will suit many styles! And it comes together so fast. A great thing for when June comes around and so many people get hitched! One night in the craft room and you can make up a handful of them. Thats my kind of design!
And that’s it today! Thanks so much for joining me and I hope you get a chance to hop over to the store to check out the last minute sales going on for the month of October. Get your hands on a few sample packs of Flavours Gourmet for all your wedding card making needs!
Happy new week, my crafty friends! Hope you are enjoying the last weeks of summer. I’d like to share with you the birthday card I made for my son, who turned six last week. First I made the watercolor background with the Strathmore Watercolor paper. I tried two color series, each with three similar colors….
Giving Thanks TogetherThanksgiving may just be one of my favorite holidays. It’s a time to be around people you love, eat until you are silly, and take a moment to be thankful for all the blessings that we have. It’s a wonderful pause in the midst of what most of us would call a busy…
It’s finally spring, and we’re deep into Easter here at the CutCardStock blog. One of my favorite Easter projects is making Peeky Eggs–like the hollow sugar or chocolate eggs, only fewer calories. This one I’ve embellished with lots of Smoosh Roses, and since they were made with Curious Metallic Cardstock, they all have a pretty shimmer to them: Here’s…
There are many reasons we send cards. I love the fact that a card can be uplifting and let people know that someone is thinking about them. An encouraging note can make all the difference. My project today is all about doing your best –and lots of glitter. I’m using some Gold Glitter 74lb. cardstock and adhering…
Today I wanted to show you how I colored a cute little Easter card with my Copic markers. I’m fairly new to Copics, so my skills are still developing, but I *LOVE* playing with them! I printed out this cute digital stamp from Digi Web Studio using my Canon ink jet printer and gave it just a…

This card is simply elegant. I see its purpose beyond weddings. What embossing folder did you use? -Deidra
Deidra, this was created with heat embossing using stamps and embossing powder rather than an embossing folder. Hope that helps!
