Fall Candy Indian Corn Favor
I think Fall is such a beautiful time for a wedding! It’s a great season for color and wedding or not, it’s a great time to make sweet treats to hand out as favors, or just because!
This project was Pinterest inspired, and I thought it would be a great mashup of everything that’s going on at the CutCardStock blog…. DIY Wedding, Fall craft inspiration and brown, orange and gold cardstock on sale this month at CutCardStock.com.
I have to admit, this was super easy to make. And honestly, I had two young boys, one on either side of me as I was assembling them, asking if I needed some assistance “sampling” the chocolate. I think just for their benefit, these treats may be making an appearance at our Thanksgiving table.
I started by printing my label on Brown Bag Kraft cardstock. This cardstock is light weight and runs like a dream through my printer! I also grabbed orange, deep red and brown cardstock, pretzel treat bags and the fall colored Sixlets
I found at a local craft store.
My printed cardstock was cut into circles by my trusty circle punch. I then cut strips from the Kraft, brown, orange and red cardstock and called upon those boys by my side to “rough them up a bit”, or as a refined crafter might say “distress them.”
Then I folded them all together in a bunch and tied them to the top of the filled pretzel treat bag.
I added the tag with a small piece of gold twine, and I think this is just the greatest fall favor. I got married in the fall, but 16 years ago we didn’t have Pinterest. So my favors weren’t nearly this cute!
