Hi everyone, Nicole here today. I hope everyone is doing great on this first day of June. Summer is in full swing here in Utah and it’s turned mighty warm the last few days. I was asked to showcase some pocket scrapbooking on today’s post. And like most projects I seem to work on these days this one took on a life of it’s own. I wanted to highlight a camping trip from last year and instead I managed to start a whole mini album.
One great feature about CutCardStock is when you order you can have the card stock cut to a particular size. If you are a pocket scrapbooker or card maker this is such a great feature. The PopTone Card Stock was cut into 4×6 and 2×3 pieces. They were even great about sending me all the little extras leftover bits. 🙂
I always start first with my pictures. Printing out any and all photos that I want to include and then I start placing them in the pockets. After the pictures I then start placing pieces of card stock in pockets and start figuring out where I want to add journaling and any die-cuts.
I add 3D objects to the pockets as well. Leaving the pockets open until I’ve figured out for sure that is where I want something to stay. One huge plus in using pockets to record your memories is you can keep moving things around pretty easily.
One of my favorite techniques is adding confetti/sequins/die-cuts to a pocket and then sealing the pocket shut. I did this in quite a few pockets in this mini album.
To create the confetti in the picture above I used a whole punch, Blue Raspberry, and Berrylicious Card Stock.
I recently purchased a new toy that seals the pockets shut and I had a great time using it as I created the pages. I used it to seal all my pockets shut as well as when I created a cut out in a piece of vellum I printed a picture on.
Another tip is to load your Silhouette/Cricut mat up when doing a lot of cuts at once. I did all the die-cuts at one time and then got back to my creating time much quicker.
Here is a look at my whole mini album:
The large full page pictures I printed onto vellum. It takes the ink longer to dry, but I love the effect and opaqueness of the pages.
Alright you get extra credit points for making it through this picture heavy post. I really hope I was able to give you a few tips though and if you’ve never tried pocket scrapbooking or having your card stock pre-cut I would really suggest giving it a try.
