Gelato-wash Die cut Card

Hello! It’s Kristie Larsen  here to share with you a little tutorial that mixes some gorgeous Classic Linen card stock with a water-colour medium and die cuts, for a nice feminine touch.

First I’m using Neenah Classic Linen Cardstock that you can find in the store. It’s 80lb which means it held its own with all the use I gave it today. I saturated it with some water and Gelatos. I started by rubbing my Gelatos onto an acrylic block. I do this to get a light color wash on the paper and then when I want to add more color I put the stick to paper and rub with purpose! I then add more water to it and wash it around.

Here I have one layer of light wash and am adding some color straight from stick to paper and have added water.

And with ALL that water and ALL that rubbing, I didn’t have one problem with pilling or ripping. This paper is amazing! I then dried my paper using a heat tool and it held up great. It had lovely shades of color all across it with a hint of the linen texture showing through.

I then used the sheet to die cut some doily flowers.

After die cutting, I laid the flowers out in layers and adhered them to my card base with dimensional adhesive.

I die cut my sentiment 4 times using Neenah Classic Crest card stock, which is a nice smooth white and I glued them together to create some depth. I added some dew drops for a light detail. I love how this paper took to the Gelatos but also die cut marvellously!

Thanks for joining me today! There are so many fabulous card stocks in the store that you can use for die cutting and inking and playing! Be sure to check it out and see what CutCardStock.com has in store for you!

Until next time,
xoxo
