Happy Wednesday, everyone, and welcome to our blog where we enjoy showing you some of the beautiful products available at the CutCardStock store. For my project I have used the Classic Crest Solar White 80# Cover Cardstock, and my favorite RED CS ever, Stardream Metallic Jupiter (Red) 105# CS. My card is certainly clean and simple and I hope you like it as well as the instructions which are certainly NOT my original ideas. I have used the Envelope Punch Board to make the bow but you can certainly make the entire bow by hand cutting. Hopefully you will be able to replicate from my instructions if you don’t have the punch board. And although I used the MS Bow Punch for the waist of the dresses, you could add ribbon or hand cut the bow. So lets see what I came up with this time……
The two little dresses are made from some Wilton 4″doilies which have been folded to form the skirts of the dresses and the top of the dresses are hearts which were die cut using SB Hearts dies. Of course the tops could be made by handcutting a heart, paying attention to the size for the correct proportion.
For the first fold I used the 4 and 11 o’clock positions. For the next fold I used the edge of the doily lace to decide where to fold. Next I adhered the side of the skirt. I then clipped off the point at the top of the skirt and positioned the heart to make the top of the dress. Finally I added the bow with a small pearl to cover the waistline seam. How easy is that???
For the dimensional bow at the bottom of the card, I started with two 6″ X 1″ CS and one 5″ x 1″ CS. At the center of each, I used the punch board to cut out the notches…but hopefully if you don’t have a punch board you can do this notch by hand. On one of the 6″ X 1″ pieces, which will be the base, I notched out the tails of the bow. On the remaining two strips I rounded the corners.
Next I used a pencil to curve the actual bow pieces and adhered them toward the center, trying to match the rounded corners to the rounded notch (See # 3). Next I centered the actual bow on top of the base and used a tiny staple to hold it in place (See # 4). Finally I added a bit of bling to the center and it was ready for my card!!
I used dimensional tape to prop up the sentiment panel and the dresses. I hope you like my little creation and will decide to use my instruction and make some dresses and bows of your own!!! Once you get started this is so quick and easy. I tried showing you some things you can do even if you don’t have the dies and punch board.
