Hello, happy Friday to all! This is Alexia here today and I want to share a quick tutorial with you on how to make gift bags out of regular envelopes. I used the Kraft 5.25 x 7.25 envelopes to create the following gift bags, aren’t they adorable?! It’s perfect for holding fruit bars and other items that are larger in length. It’s convenient, and the best part is it’s easy to make! Don’t forget to grab some of these Brown Bags envelopes, they are on sale right now!
Tutorial starts here:
Step 1: Prepare brown envelopes, I used the 5.25 x 7.25 (A7) ones. It works for other sizes depending on the size of the item you want it to hold.
Step 2: Line up envelope on a scoring board and score at 2″ start from the bottom of the envelope
Step 3: After scoring, use a craft knife and cut open the bottom of the envelope.
This is how it should look like:
Step 4: Fold the opening in the following pattern
Close the opening
Seal the opening with adhesive gun or tape
Open the envelope and here is how it looks like inside, simple steps!
Step 5: Embellish bags with custom made labels! I used A7 folded kraft card to create the labels and as well as the basis white card stock for the larger scalloped label.
Step 6: Adhere ribbon on envelope to embellish.
Step 7: Adhere label to gift bag’s opening/closing flap.
Now it’s ready for party!
