Grinch Card Box

Nothing is more classic than the story of the Grinch! I’ve made several cards this year with this theme and needed a way to gift them to others. Hi, I’m Maureen (A Little Mo Crafty) and I’ve made a Grinch card box that is sure to delight your friends and family. Grab your CutCardStock paper and let me show you how it’s made!

First cut two sheets of Pop Tone Limeade with the following cuts: 9 5/8″ by 6 1/4″ for the structure of the box and 4 3/4″ by 11″ for the flap.

Score the box form at a 7/8″ on the longer sides and at 3″ and again at 3 7/8″. Score the shorter sheet at 5 3/4″ and 6 3/4″.

Next, trim a tab for this Grinch card box at the cross folds and bend in towards the center. Fold the remaining lines in.

Fold up the shorter end panel, tucking the tabs in and the bigger side tabs on the outside of the box. Glue and fold up to attach.

Now attach the shorter piece by inserting the short end to the inside of the box. Glue and fold over the front like a flap. I left mine open, but you can use a magnet or Velcro piece to adhere it shut.

For the face, I cut a Lessebo Sunflower Yellow small circle with a die cut then cut it in half. I cut two smaller circles in Lessebo Pitch Black for eyes. Additionally, I used fringe black ribbon to create thick eyebrows.

Now for the hair, cut a short strap of feathery green ribbon or fur and adhere it to the top of the front flap, folding it over to the back. Leave a little excess to stick up.

Wired ribbon works well for this. I formed mine into a small point.

Attach the eyes underneath the hair strip. Using a black marker, draw a nose and mouth according to my design. Additionally, I added some yellow ink blending to cheeks and detail with a white gel pen.

Besides the outside, add an additional detail like a heart on the inner flap. I used DCS Red Wagon paper.

Did your heart grow 3 sizes after this project? Ha ha, I hope you’ll give this a try. Make sure to get your fabulous holiday green and red papers at CutCardStock.com!
