Step 1: Prepare the Card Bases
Cut four White cardstock panels to create 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch top folding card bases. Also cut 4 Plum Purple panels measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches.

Step 2: Emboss White Panels
Cut four White cardstock panels to 4 x 5 1/4 inches.
Emboss each White cardstock panel with an embossing folder featuring a small repeating dot pattern.

Step 3: Decorative Strips & Sentiments
Cut 4 strips of Plum Purple cardstock 1 inch wide. 4 strips of Silver cardstock 1/4 inch wide.
Stamp 4 sentiments with Versamark watermark ink. Heat emboss with silver embossing powder. Die cut.

Step 4: Die Cut Flowers
Use your floral dies to cut the flower petals from Lilac cardstock. Cut the flower centers from Sunflower Yellow and Galax Olive Green cardstock, and die cut the stem and detailed leaves from Moss Green cardstock.

Ink the flowers with a purple ink for a little dimension.

Layer the flower and leaf pieces together, adding the yellow ring and green center to complete the bloom.

Step 5: Assemble
Adhere the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch Plum Purple panels to the front of the white card bases.

Layer the Plum Purple and Silver the decorative strips. Adhere to the embossed panels.
Position one flower on each card front, arranging the stem and leaves so they flow naturally down the panel.
Keep the placement similar across the four cards to create a coordinated set, but adjust the flower slightly as needed to work with each strip design.
Adhere the stems and leaves first, followed by the flowers. Use small amounts of adhesive to secure the delicate die-cut pieces. Foam adhesive beneath the flower head can add extra dimension if desired.
Step 6: Add the Sentiments
Finish each card with a sentiment that suits its design and intended occasion. I used four different greetings:
- Keep Shining — a cheerful encouragement card
- Just Because — a versatile card for any occasion
- Celebrating You Today — perfect for a birthday or special milestone
- Hello Friend — a lovely way to brighten someone’s day
The silver lettering coordinates beautifully with the metallic accent strips, while the mix of script and block lettering adds visual interest.
Position each sentiment where it balances the flower and decorative strips. For sentiments that overlap the purple bands, use a little foam adhesive if needed to help them stand out.

Step 7: Finish
Adhere the white panels to the card bases.

Create More Cards with the Same Design
One of my favorite ways to make a coordinated card set is to repeat a few key elements while changing the layout. The same floral die cut, embossed background, and cardstock colors can produce a variety of looks simply by moving the accent strips or changing the sentiment.
The rich purple cardstock from CutCardStock provides a beautiful foundation for these designs, while the white embossed panels keep the cards bright and elegant. The silver metallic cardstock adds just the right amount of shine without overwhelming the floral focal point.
Whether you need a card to encourage a friend, celebrate a birthday, or send a little hello, this simple design can be adapted for so many occasions. Try experimenting with different cardstock colors, embossing folders, and floral dies to make the design your own!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope this four-card set inspires you to pull out your favorite cardstock and dies and create a collection of handmade cards to have ready for any occasion.
