Tag Shaped Slimline Card
Hey everybody – happy weekend! I hope you have something fun planned in this gorgeous Fall weather! Leslie here today with a tutorial for making a tag shaped slimline card. Since I’m a retro kind of gal, I brought out some amazing colors of cardstock. Brown and aqua are favorite retro colors, so I chose Lessebo Coffee Bean, Vanilla Bean Brown and Pop Tone Sno Cone. Also used Classic Crest Recycled Natural White and some floral paper from my stash to help bring this card to life. So lets get started, shall we?!

Create Focal Element
Firstly, using the paper piecing technique, I stamped and fussy cut all the elements for the Jayla doll:
— Base doll image stamped on Classic Crest Recycled Natural White, skin colored with alcohol markers, then fussy cut.
— Shirt stamped on floral paper in my stash, then fussy cut.
— Hair, pants and shoes stamped on Vanilla Bean Brown, then fussy cut. Additionally, I used a darker brown alcohol marker for the hair and shoes along with a yellow acrylic pen for the earrings.
Secondly, I glued the elements to the base image and set her aside.

Cut Card Base & Layers
— Card base cut at 7″ x 9-3/4″ from Classic Crest Recycled Natural White and scored at 3-1/2″ on the short side. For the tag shape, simply cut off the top corners at an angle, then follow suit with each layering panel.
— Front layering panel cut at 3-7/16″ x 9-11/16″ from Lessebo Coffee Bean.
— Inside layering panel cut at 3-1/4″ x 9-1/2″ from Pop Tone Sno Cone.
— Inside sentiment panel cut at 3-1/8″ x 9-3/8″ from Classic Crest Recycled Natural White.

Die Cut Background
Using a thinlit in my stash, I die cut the background into the front layering panel.

Adhere Layers for Tag Shaped Slimline Card
Afterwards, I adhered Sno Cone cardstock behind the die cut background, then adhered the piece to the card base. Tombow Mono Liquid Multi Purpose Glue was my adhesive of choice for this project.
Next, I adhered the Natural White inside sentiment panel to the Sno Cone layering panel. For a little interest, I adhered a layered border to the bottom of the panel as well.

Add Focal Image & Sentiments
Added the focal image with thin foam squares and used liquid adhesive for the die cut bow at the top.
The final part of this phase was stamping sentiments – stamped in black ink on the front and brown ink on the inside.

Complete Tag Shaped Slimline Card
All that was left to do was to adhere the inside piece to the card base. Such a fun card for a smart and sassy birthday girl!
