Masculine Card Inspiration

Hey everybody, happy Wednesday and welcome to June! We’re nearly to the middle of the year already! Need a little masculine card inspiration? Leslie here with a tutorial for making a really nice masculine card in navy blue and brown. A ‘just because’ card, because who needs a formal excuse to tell a guy he rocks?! Could be the hubs, a family member or a good friend! I used several varieties of cardstock to bring this card to life, which I’ll list below. Let’s get started!

Create Focal Element

Using a vintage VW bug die set in my stash, I cut the pieces from the following cardstock:
Classic Crest Patriot Blue: VW bug body, fenders and side mirror
Lessebo Pitch Black: Car outline and wheels; and Lessebo Granite Gray: Front and back bumpers
Bright Silver Foil: Hubcaps
Classic Crest 80# Solar White: Rear and front lights (rear light colored with red marker)

Cut Card Base & Layers

Firstly, cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from Classic Crest Patriot Blue.

Secondly, cut one full-size and one roughly third-size layering panel from coordinating light brown patterned papers. Oh, this navy blue and light brown look so good together!

Thirdly, cut a sentiment panel for the inside from Classic Crest Recycled 100% Classic Natural White.

Adhere Layers for Masculine Card Inspiration Project

Next, glue the two light brown patterned paper panels together with the narrow one across the bottom.

Notch the corners of the card base, the patterned paper layering panel, and inside sentiment panel.

Now grab a leftover strip of patterned paper and adhere it to the left side of the inside sentiment panel.

Add Focal & Sentiments

Glue the focal element to the card front and stamp a sentiment in blue ink.

Afterwards, stamp a sentiment on the inside sentiment panel.

All that’s left to do is add a few glitter enamel dots to the front and adhere the inside sentiment panel. Your awesome masculine card is complete!

STAMPS: Ranger Letter It Occasions and You Rock stamp sets

    1. Aww, thanks! I had to have this die set when I saw it and my inspiration for this navy blue bug came from my late sister’s 1968! We had some good times in that little car! <3
