Mini Tag Flip

Hey everybody! Happy Wednesday – I hope you’re having a good week! Do you like creating colorful tags? I sure do, in all sizes! Leslie here, sharing a mini tag flip with you today. Just in case you’ve never heard of this fun little project, it features layered and decorated tags. Perfect for tweens and grown-ups alike! I used a variety of our cardstock, which I’ll list below. Most people make these to swap or just to give as a fun gift. It’s not your typical mini album although the tags can have pockets and areas for photos and journaling. My mini tag flip actually includes one tag with a pocket and tiny journaling card. So let’s get started!

Prepare the Embellishments

Pom-pom and butterfly charm needed jump rings, so I added those from my stash. The tassel is handmade from yellow hemp cord in my stash, and I added a ring to that as well.

Die Cut the Tags & Elements

If you have mini tag dies, die cut a bunch of them in a variety of solid cardstock and patterned papers. The set of dies I used came in a kit along with double-sided papers, stickers, and embellishments. There are also rosette, bow, butterfly and flower dies. Additionally, I punched circles for the centers of the rosettes. As I typically do, I cut too many pieces but will have extras for future use. Note: Tag dies are not necessary. Tags can be punched or cut in a variety of sizes with scissors or a paper trimmer.

These are the cardstock colors I used:
Lessebo Sweet Mint and Amazon Dark Teal
Pop Tone Grapesicle and Banana Split
Royal Sundance Burgundy Linen
Textured Pearl Green Curry
Bright Gold Foil
Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White

Create the Tags

Now let the fun begin and go wild creating the tags! Enamel dots, foam stickers and cardstock stickers from the kit were used to embellish some of the tags. In addition, I used enamel shapes, gemstones and pinstripe peel-off stickers from my stash.

Here is a shot of the tag with pocket and tiny journaling card that I mentioned above.

Eight tags total were used for this project. Typically I go overboard and cut more pieces than needed, and made eight additional tags for another mini tag flip. Also have LOTS of extra die cuts to make more tag embellishments for future projects. 🙂
