Cross-Stitching on CutCardStock

BBBRRRRR!!! This is your creative friend and new DT member, Karen. I just returned from super cold Northern Minnesota. I felt like a little penguin all wrapped up in my coat, hat and scarf. It literally made me feel like I was “Walking in a Winter Wonderland”. And, it inspired my cute little card today. Did you know that you can cross-stitch on cardstock? It’s so much fun! The quality of the cardstock from CutCardStock will allow you to cross-stitch and create to your heart’s content. They have it ALL.

I used a piece of Sand Castle Tan Cardstock and a really cool stitchable die to cut. Then, I cross-stitched my cute little penguin onto the paper.  This cardstock is thick and hefty giving it the girth you need to stitch on it while still looking like paper.  Have I mentioned all the gorgeous colors 🌈of cardstock they carry at CutCardStock?  I’m not joking when I say that you can find the perfect color(s) to match all your projects, and you’ll LOVE the prices and quality.  We all need our go-to cardstock company, and I’d suggest that you look no further than CutCardStock.

I used a Jelly Bean Green A2 Folded Card as my card base. Then I attached another piece of the Sand Castle Tan Cardstock which I inked on the edges with pink/red inks.  The cross-stitched image was created by using a free pattern I found on Pinterest.  I had to run to the store twice to pick up (first black and then white) more DMC floss because I didn’t plan ahead.  Lol, I won’t make that mistake again.  I put together my card by attaching the inked piece of Sand Castle Tan Cardstock, then the cross-stitched piece of Sand Castle Tan Cardstock.  My stamped sentiment was added at the bottom and added another piece of the gorgeous Sand Castle Tan Cardstock. My finishing touches included a burgundy bow and a few little pearl accents.

We welcome you to visit the Creating With CutCardstock Facebook Page as well as the CutCardStock Blog for lots of great inspiration.

Thanks so much for stopping by today to take a look at my cross-stitch card. I hope you’ll stop by CutCardStock to pick up some of these gorgeous papers and give cross-stitching a try. It’s so much fun and we really want to be your GO-TO store for cardstock. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

Karen

  1. Karen, this is absolutely adorable! I used to cross-stitch on fabric many (many) moons ago and loved it. You’ve knocked it out of the park with your amazing debut project for CutCardStock!
