Mixed Media Easter Birthday Cards

Hello, friends! Spring is well on its way so I’ve been adding all sorts of color to my projects. Are you doing the same? Toni with you today sharing a cheerful duo of mixed media eater birthday cards.

I wanted LOTS of color on the Easter eggs but wanted them to feel randomly colored too. Thus, I decided to use Kromekote White Gloss cardstock which handles alcohol inks amazingly well. One side of the cardstock is a coated gloss and the opposite side is an uncoated matte finish.

I donned a pair of rubber gloves and smeared a variety of alcohol inks across a full size sheet. This resulted in a variety of colors and different sized stripes.

Next, I diecut two sets of eggs which I adhered to a Pop Tone Black Licorice panel. Aren’t they pretty?! I diecut the panel with a deckle edge rectangle and 3D-embossed it.

As a final touch, I added the sentiments cut from Discount Raspberry Ice with a Pop Tone Black Licorice sentiment strip before spattering the panel with white paint.

Of course, I couldn’t let the rest of the alcohol ink panel go to waste so I used it behind a cover plate cut from Cougar White cardstock. I mounted this on a Pop Tone Black Licorice panel.

Taking inspiration from the alcohol ink, I cut the “friend” from Lessebo Amazon Dark Teal and sentiment strip from Discount Raspberry Ice cardstocks.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my cards. Have a great rest of your day!
