Shimmery Snowflakes
Now that the holidays are over, are you still creating holiday/winter cards or have you moved on to Valentines and such?
Toni here and, personally, I find the cold weather the perfect inspiration to make cards with snowflakes and wintery critters. But, how could I best capture the beauty of snow?

I wondered whether I could sponge Silk Glitter Opulent Opal 12×12 cardstock with ink. Would it smear or maybe take a long time to dry? Would the ink remove the light reflecting quality of the glitter? The answer is yes, no, and a resounding no!

I used Catherine Pooler inks along with a Taylored Expressions Create in Quads layering stencil set to create two versions. Both turned out amazing–so sparkly! The first I mounted on Pop Tone Blue Raspberry cardstock to pull out the blue inks.
I’ll be saving this one to send to an international recipient just in case the mail is slow and it might not arrive until after Christmas.

For the second, I used Environment Desert Storm cardstock (a fantastic neutral!), to not detract from the softer colors. I so love these unconventional colors.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my cards. Have a great rest of your day!
