Vintage Snowman

As a card creator, I like to make multiples of cards as I create. There is one exception. My Mother In Law always gets a snowman card and hers is always one of a kind. Hi, it’s Patty and I am going to show you how I created two very different Vintage Snowman cards for Christmas. Now I have to choose which one to give her!

Getting Started

First, I embossed my panel out of Sno Cone cardstock with the Winter Flurry embossing folder. Next, I used my Hero Arts Unicorn White ink and dragged my ink pad over the embossed (raised) side of my card panel.

Next, I embossed my Gum Drop Green card panel with the Fir Tree Branches embossing folder. I dragged my Deck The Halls ink pad over the debossed (impressed) side of the card panel.

Now my background panels are ready!

Next Steps

To add just a light touch of shading to my snowmen, I used my Copic markers in BG0000 and BG000 to create rounding lines on the sides of the snowman’s body and head. I glued the parts of the snowman’s top hat and the Santa hat and mittens together. To get stripes on the candy cane, I colored the candy cane with my R29 Copic marker. I wanted to get shadows on the scarf for the snowman so I used Copic markers G07 and YG67 to color the green scarf. To add a little pizzaz, I colored dots on the scarf with my white gel pen.

Next, I cut out snow banks for the red snowman. I added shading on the hat and mittens using Copic markers R29 and R39. To get the stripes on his scarf, I drew them on with my white gel pen.

Lastly, I cut out all of the greenery and sentiments I would need for these two cards. I assembled the snowman and set them on their card bases so I could add their greenery to the bottom.

Finishing Up

To complete the card, I glued the greenery to the base of both cards. I added some silver greenery to the card with the green background. Next, I glued down the snowmen to their card bases. Then I added the sentiments and finished up with some Ruby Red Hero Arts sequins.
