Shaped Cards in Non-traditional Colors For Christmas or Gifts
Hey crafty friends! Karen here today and I am finishing up my Christmas Inspiration Countdown Series with non-traditional colors and shaped cards. Instead of the usual reds, greens and golds, why not try some beautiful metallic cardstocks in purple, blue and silver?

Cardstock Used:
Stardream Metallic Card Stock in Vista, Silver and Punch
Neenah Classic Crest Solar White
Other Supplies Used:
Spellbinders Arch Punch and Pierce Plate
Creek Bank Creations Bethlehem Nativity Set
Assortment of foiled and die cut sentiments
Dollar Store Cloth Basket

Christmas cards can be made with dies not meant for Christmas and colors not usually associated with Christmas.
Die Cut Pieces and the Card Bases

One pass of the Spellbinders Arched Punch and Pierce Plate through a die cutting machine die cuts all three pieces. Therefore, after three passes we have all the pieces to make three beautiful shaped cards.

Cut the cardbases in three different layouts using Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock. One is a top folding arch shaped. Another is a side folding arch shaped. The third is a traditional easel card. The Christmas card above featured the easel layout. All three will fit into A2 sized envelopes.

Completing Cards for a Gift Basket
These shaped cards are perfect for Christmas cards as shown in the first card. Additionally, they could be used for birthday, sympathy, thinking of you or any other reason or season. I made a set of 6 cards most without any sentiments attached. Then I packaged up a dozen or so foiled and die cut sentiments with adhesive strips on the backs. My gift will be the six cards and the bag of sentiments. The recipient will chose which sentiment to add anytime they need a special card.

I hope these cards inspire you to try dies and colors in new and non-traditional ways and then give or send them out to share some handmade joy in our world! Happy Holidays to you and yours!
Cardmaking Joy & Hugs,
Karen
